Fixing the ZwiftGPS Map

ZwiftMap 2.2.2 hopefully fixes a problem with missing display of the roads in the ZwiftGPS window.

There also seems to be a different problem with ZwiftGPS itself so it sometimes doesn’t load the map properly. You you can get it loaded by manually switching worlds in the ZwiftGPS user interface.

ZwiftMap fixed after Zwift log.txt changes

ZwiftMap 2.2.1 is a small update needed after Zwift modified its log.txt format slightly (in September). This update fixes the problem that the classic map stopped showing your position.

ZwiftMap updated with Makuri Islands

ZwiftMap 2.2.0 is finally there with support for Makuri Islands.

Under the hood there has been some other technology updates. Unfortunately it has been necessary to remove the automatic retrieval of rider ID and weight – you now have to enter these profile details manually.

Fix for missing chat messages in ZwiftMap

ZwiftMap 2.1.9 fixes a problem with missing chat messages. Hopefully all messages should now be shown when you run ZwiftMap with the network capture features activated.

For macOS it should also improve the ride metrics display (that was fixed for Windows in the last version 2.1.8 but not for macOS).

Fixing missing ride data in ZwiftMap

ZwiftMap 2.1.8 fixes a problem with missing ride data. The problem started to show a few days ago, seemingly because of a change in Zwift.

All worlds are supported by ZwiftGPS – and in ZwiftMap

ZwiftGPS now supports all worlds, also Bologna, Crit City, France, and Paris. That means you can see these worlds in both the classic map and the ZwiftGPS map in ZwiftMap

ZwiftMap 2.1.7 is just a small bug fix release because it displayed New York instead of Crit City in the ZwiftGPS window. Oops!

France and Paris are added to the classic map

The biggest change is that France and Paris maps are now included in the classic map window (6 August: And also in the ZwiftGPS window )

Besides that there are important bug fixes regarding the network capture functionality.

Bug fixes

The network capture functionality didn’t work in macOS in the previous version 2.1.5 which was uploaded end of June but not announced. This should be fixed now.

The fixes in 2.1.5 were primarily around network capture, ensuring that all chat log messages are captured.

Always enabled chat log, ride on counts, and hopefully a fix for blinking in ZwiftGPS

A couple of things are changed.

Chat and ride ons

The biggest new feature is that the chat window is now always enabled (but you decide whether to show it or not). ZwiftMap monitors the Zwift log file (log.txt) and displays the chat messages and ride ons you are given in the chat window.

Ride ons are tallied as well while ZwiftMap is running and the tally is shown in the ride/run data window. Beware that unless you have activated network capture it’s the only data updated in that window.

Trickery in ZwiftGPS

Finally, some extra tricks have been built into the ZwiftGPS window.

The first is an attempt to stop the sudden changes to a different which seems to happen when the ZwiftGPS server is under load – in that case the server sometimes sends a single data record with the ID of the default world rather than the one you’re in. That is now ignored.

The other is that data records are from ZwiftGPS are scrubbed for riders not in the same world. Hopefully that prevents riders in other worlds from appearing in the map.

Bug fix in ZwiftMap – zoom with mouse in ZwiftGPS

The ability to zoom in and out with the mouse wheel in the ZwiftGPS window was broken in the recent version 2.1.0. It has been fixed now – place your mouse in the top right corner of the ZwiftGPS and wheel away…

What is new?

ZwiftMap 2.1.0 is really just a service release with a couple of small improvement which never had gotten released plus some internal changes.

There is a new option (default) to reset (actually, override) zoom in zwiftgps to 100%
There is a new option to hide running-only roads
All worlds are supported in the classic map
